My work seeks to understand and explore the nature of the world and of my own mind in terms of the language of sculpture. This involves observation, and an ear for listening to the essential nature of things and what it is they are saying, and from there finding ways to relate them to other objects, forms or ideas. This means that each piece self-evolves in a dance between my searching, combinatorial mind and the seemingly mute world of things.

This making from a quiet center of involvement in a mental and physical space filled with ideas, tools, and objects is very satisfying and endlessly fascinating to me. I hope the pieces present themselves as evidence of this basic urge to understand, and involve the mind of the viewer in the process of creation and communication.
